Youth Councils

We have a Junior High Youth Council (JHYC) & a High School Youth Council (HSYC) in our parish. Both groups are VERY active & they are responsible for planning the activities that our parish offers people in their age group. The councils both meet on the first Sunday of the month with the JHYC meeting at 6:00 pm & the HSYC meeting at 7:00 pm. Each of the councils offer at least 1 activity a month & anyone who attends Unit 50 is welcome to attend any of those activities.

Our activities can be classified under four basic categories:
1) Spiritual growth – opportunities for kids to get in touch with their faith & learn more about their relationship with God.

2) Fundraising – efforts go on throughout the year to help raise funds to defray costs of other activities

3) Fun & Fellowship – these activities are sponsored to bring kids together to just have FUN! Whether its dances or bonfires or Make Your Own Sundaes – St. Francis Youth have got it going on!

 4) Service – this is a biggie with our parish youth. We sponsor a lot of activities that students & their families can learn the JOY in service. We do rake ‘n runs, painting pumpkins for the elderly & a host of other fun service projects throughout the year – Jesus said to love your neighbor, & our youth are AWESOME at doing just that! Typically, each youth council has at least one activity per month to offer to their peers.
